Awesome!

What a beautiful family picture.
What a blessing to Tom and I. . .all those beautiful GRANDkids
and they have
GREAT parents to raise them in the way of the Lord.
(And you can’t see him/her but there is one more on the way.)
We are so THANKFUL for the BLESSINGS the Lord has bestowed in our lives.
********************************************
Stan and Becky gave me a family photo session, pictures and dinner for all for my birthday!
I may not be the richest woman in monetary things. . .but I am abundantly blessed
with the things that really count. . .God. . .Family. . .Friends!

News and Updates!
Well folks, so many things have happened since my last
post I don't really know where to start.
For one thing, We've had another grandbaby.
Kyle Stanley Peach
5-19-14
9 lbs. 14 oz. H

He took his time getting here but was worth the wait.
Becky and Stan took him home to be loved and
cherished by his big brother, Jesse,
and his four sisters, Brooklyn, Jillian, Kathryn and Emily.
He always has an arm waiting to hold him.

*********************************************
Then, we had little Brenley Wirth, our niece.
She was born with Robin-pierre and proved herself
to be a real winner - she had to go through surgery in the first few weeks of her life - but she
made it and is gaining ground daily.
She was in the hospital for several weeks but
by the grace of God and the prayers of God's people the doctors were able to help her by operating on her jaw.
She is finally home by her big brother, Jon Wayne, and the rest of her extended family. She is blessed with loads of love from every direction!
Here Brenley is with her mommy, Sami, and her daddy, Sam.
And by herself after surgery. . .she now has NO tubes or wires. . .praise God!

*******************************************
Then just one more note of accomplishment. . .
I, YES! . . .Karen Peach. . .have been trying to ride my
bicycle from six (6) to nine (9) miles daily!
Yes, women can wear a skirt, an hair-up-do, long sleeves and still ride a bicycle at sixty-one years of age. . .
AND enjoy it!
While Joey Wirth was in town he rode with me a couple of days.
 On Sunday's or rainy days I usually don't get the full six to nine miles . . .but I try for at least two.
Now Tom is riding with me when he's not too busy.
We used to go bike riding together as kids, now we
are old married people (44 years in August) and we're riding together again.
Love is a wonderful thing to share with your sweetheart.
Some folks take a cruise
but we'll just settle for a bike ride. ;D
Blessings!

Here's a great song that has blessed my heart in the past few months. . .
I CAN PRAY! by the Perry's.

Greg . . . Paul. . .gone but not forgotten

Lots of things have happened since I last put my thoughts on my blog.

My brother-in-law, Melvin Gregory Martin, passed away from brain cancer on Christmas day.  Greg was a good man and we spent many, many hours at the hospital with he, Rachel and the kids.  It was a hard time, but also a good time as we all drew closer to the Lord and to one another.
Together we fought the battle rather than succumbing to defeat . . .we decided to stand together as servants of the Lord and allow Him to give us victory over the circumstances we could not change.  The Lord was faithful to help us.  We had many times of worship at Greg’s bedside as he was going through hospitals and all kinds of treatments.  Greg was able to keep his contact with the Lord.  He kept his spirit right toward the Lord and was willing to allow the Lord to give him strength daily. His wife, Rachel, was there at his side most all the time. . .his son, Eric was a soldier helping his father keep focus during the really rough times. ..Joanie and Bethany were there lifting him up too.  Greg’s whole family and their spouses were wonderful blessings to Greg during his final journey home.

Greg’s funeral was December 31st, 2013.  It was attended by many as he was well loved by all.  He always was able to make people laugh with his stories and he had many, many songs from the Lord which blessed God’s people through the years.

Melvin Gregory Martin  1952 – 2013

Then two days after Greg’s funeral, our other brother-in-law, Paul Davis, was killed when his car spun out of control on ice.

George Wirth ( my daddy) and Paul Davis at Sarah’s wedding in 2002

He died a few hours after the accident which was a real shock to our family and his wife. We all hurried to Mt. Carmel, IL for his funeral. Paul had been a minister most of his life. He had retired and worked a small cattle farm for the last few years in Kentucky.  Many people came to support Willa Mae, his wife, and his son, Brad and family. It was a sweet service.

Rachel & Greg Martin / Paul & Willa Mae Davis at the family reunion of 2013.

So in just a few days we had lost the youngest and the oldest Peach girl’s husbands to death.
God is helping them both in their loss.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After Paul’s funeral on Saturday Tom and I went to visit a couple of my aunts. We took Hannah and Denny Wirth with us and it was a fun evening. The weather was crisply cool and we all laughed and sang songs or talked about days gone by. On the way back to Jon’s house we bought some pizza and chips and enjoyed visiting with our family the rest of the evening.
During the night I started hurting really badly. . .and the pain just kept increasing . . .all night I tossed and turned. . .used a heating pad. . .took something for pain. . .but I just kept getting worse.
By morning I was so bad my family was really worried for me.
They felt I should go to the hospital and I was so sick I didn’t know what to do. . . I was so full of pain I really couldn’t focus.
By the time I let them take me to the hospital I was really in bad shape!
The emergency room got right to work on me and found me full of infection.
They started helping me right away with pain killers and I really don’t know what all because I was too out of it.
Tom, Jon and Brenda were right there with me and praying for me.  Others came and sat waiting and praying for me in the waiting room.
In Texas it was found I had a cancerous tumor and some other problems they weren’t sure about.  I spent a week in the hospital and then after I was pretty infection free I was sent to another hospital to have more testing.   Long story –short, I decided to not have surgery or treatment but to trust God with my life . . .
but that’s a story for another day.
43 Years Ago Today I married the love of my life. . .He is still my sweetheart.
          ~ Tom and I are living proof that Jesus will help you. . .if you let Him. ~
This was on our 15th Anniversary 1985 - We re-newed our vows.
Darlene Stelljes sang, "Through the Years"
and Jr. Marshall sang, "I Still Get That Honeymoon Feeling"
Bro. Glenn Walker did the ceremony.
Sarah and Stan stood up with us.
We wanted to ask God to help us make our marriage stronger.
We were/are two really STRONG WILLED personalities
and we knew we needed God's help.
"To have a heart that's pure.
A spirit just like yours. . .
And faith that will endure,
That's my (our) desire.
To lift up holy hands.
Your will to understand.
To move at your command,
That's my (our) desire."
song by : Sis. Gilma
After all these years we are still working on loving one another with a pure
love. . .and working together to build up God's church.
I am so thankful that through all the storms of life. . .and there have been
times when we felt like jumping ship instead of patching the holes. . .
but God has given us the grace to stand together and face our problems.
Tom has been a faithful husband, and I, a faithful wife. . .
faithful to each other and to the vows we made to the Lord.
Before Doug and Stan both found their wives I wrote a song
for them to sing to their Brides.  I actually felt like the Lord
gave it to me for them. . .and others.
I still feel the Lord when I sing it and I know it was the Lord
who gave Tom and I the blessing of the life we've shared.
At our wedding Bro. Hetzel (Nev's dad) prayed for Tom
and I to always have a home open to God's people.
He really got in the spirit during prayer and God has given
us the opportunity to welcome God's people through the years.
Here are the words to the song. . .
"To have and to hold, dear,
In sickness and health.
To raise up a family and make God our wealth.
To establish our home, Love, with Christ by our side. . .
This is my purpose as I make you my bride.
My eye will be single,
My heart will be true.
Everything that I have, Love, I'll share it with you.
In this life together, we'll work for the Lord,
'Til death do us part, Dear, I give you my word.
Walking together, each step of the way.
Sharing each other with each passing day.
Living and loving through laughter and tears. . .
Best friends and lovers all the rest of our years."
The first time Tom and I noticed each other we were just in the first (me)
and third (Tom) grades. . .
then it was kind of a life long interest. . .
I would always notice if he started flirting with some other girl. . .
and he didn't like it when I was flirting with another boy.
So we've mostly, always been sweethearts. . .
except for those few days we'd argue and seeminly have no heart at all. :)
#10 - Douglas Andrew Hanna has made his entrance into the world.
Douglas Andrew Hanna
Arrivedv - April 24, 2013
Weight - 8 lbs. 1 oz.
Length- 20 in.
Hair- Blond with some vague strawberry tint
Place - Herman Memorial Hospital - The Woodlands
This baby was named for his Grandfather, Doug Hanna.
(and his Uncle Doug Wirth)
It is interesting that Doug Wirth and baby Doug Hanna are both
the fifth child of the family with girl-boy-girl-boy-boy sequence.
Doug Wirth said he knew which kid of Sarah's was now his favorite! ;)
Here's some photo's for you all to enjoy.
They were taken with Sarah leaving the kids at my house with Janet and I. . .
until we left the hospital.
I didn't get pictures of the others who came by but Chad's Dad and Sister's family
came by and our family - Karla and Allen, Allen Jr. and Makaela came by.
Becky was there first and then the rest of us came later .
The kids were just too much to handle in the waiting room for the long wait.
Lots of folks think he looks like Sarah, Stan thinks he looks like Jonathon, some say
George and Travis. . .Well just have to watch and see.
He does look at lot like Sarah's baby pictures to me but her hair was a definite red
and so were her eye-brows.
 Sarah looking pretty but very full of baby. . .on her way to deliverance.
Baby's 1st photo
Becky looking pretty with an armful of Douglas Andrew.
Aunt Becky bought him this little outfit and dressed him all up in it. . .then
she wrapped him in this really neat summer blanket that is light-weight but
lets the baby snuggle.
All tucked in and ready to rest from a day of changes. . .
moving from
the inside world to the outside.
Two extremely good looking men, Daddy Chad and Uncle Stan with Douglas Andrew Hanna.
The little musical blue bear in the crib was from Laura, George, Kimberly and Travis.
Janet is the BEST sister!
She was helping me all day with the four kids of Sarah and they are a HANDFUL.
She also is taking the girls home to stay with her while Sarah is in the hospital.
I have the boys.
I couldn't do it without her(.) period!
Becky and Karla also helped keep the kids from "remodeling" the hospital waiting area. . .
along with Stan and Tom. . .they were really "wound" up.
Lovely Ladies Annual Luncheon
This luncheon is given in memory of our beautiful mother. . .Jean Wirth
Giving was something she was successful at doing.
She gave not only things. . .but had enough love to reach out and include
those who were in need with compassion and grace.
Sisters  - Helen Taylor, Joy Tinney and  Marion Wright (front row)
Clara Crumpacker, Mary Eberhart, Alvenia Barr, Patsy Bollier and Polly
 Here are some pictures of our "lovely ladies". . .women who have been through some rough years without their spouses beside them.  We, Janet and I, like to give them a special time of fellowship to show them how much we love them. . .and to do something special for them in
honor of our dear mother, Norma Jean Banks Wirth.  We lost her in 2004. Mom would be very pleased with us for this. She liked "to do" for others.  We hold it at the White Flamingo in Spring, Tx.
Darlena Williams and Martha Dodd.
 Becky Wright  and Janet Perry
Becky used to come with her mother who she lost several years back.
We have continued to invite her as guest of honor being Bro. Gary Wright's wife, our pastor.
I'm with them in the picture below.
Nev Doades and Darlene Stelljes
Here's  Sis. Alvenia Barr/Stewart, Patsy Bollier and her sister, Polly
Everyone got to know Polly better during our stories. . .she's a keeper!
Sis. Marge Turner and Sis. Lucille Marshburn - sorry the picture is so blurry.
It's not the people or the camera but me, the photographer, who messes things up.
Sis. Riley and  Sis. Bernice Atwell
We were so happy to have Sis. Riley down from South Dakota and able to attend the luncheon.
Sis. Frances Pruiett, Sis. Clara Crumpacker and Sis. Mary Eberhart
Our waiter, Thomas, did a great job.
He also, along with Evelyn, enjoyed some of Janet's homemade cake.
This year she made a diabetic Pumpkin Cheesecake plus a
German Chocolate and  Pecan Pie cake!
Let me tell you,  it was hard to make a choice.
I got to take home some of each. ;) Benefits of being the other hostess.
This was a gift from Nev. . .she got one for both Janet and I.
The reason I posted it online is to let you know the three items up front were made
by her granddaughter, Makaela.
They smell great and I think it's neat Makaela is doing homemade soaps and lotions.
She just might sell you some if you're interested.
Each year we have different ladies attend.  We try to invite who the Lord lays on our
hearts. . .sometimes a few can't make it due to health or they just have other plans
but we mostly get a great response.
They give us a room to ourselves where we can each give a little story about something in our lives.
This year our theme was "A Mentor In My Life Who Helped Me Become Who I Am".
The stories were precious as always.
Psalm 146:9
 (KJV)
9 The Lord preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.
Thanksgiving Day 2012
Here it is, our Thanksgiving Day of 2012.
The Tom Peach family
Tom and Karen.
I am so blessed to have such a creative man for my husband.
He makes all kinds of neat things to help us have special memories of events.
Like this little Prairie house. . .he put this up for me so all could get their
pictures made in it. . .and he had plenty of props in the great room of the shop
to make it look rustic.
We have been blessed to have the energy to have these outing most Thanksgivings,
Christmases and 4th's of July. . .plus some in between.
This year Tom, Chad, Janet, Michelle, Doug and his boys all
helped get things together. . .it was a blessing to work together.
One more note, My folks were married on Thanksgiving Day 61 years ago and
Stan proposed to and gave a ring to Becky on Thanksgiving Day in 1995.
We owe so much of our happiness to the moral fiber our parents (Peach/Wirth)
and grandparents embraced. . .we carry much of the love they invested into
our lives inside our hearts and we are trying to continue in their example.
The Sam Perry family
Janet and the Preacher man..
Davita and Phillip were out of town visiting Phillips family.
David and Krista were with her family.
Kristen and Kevin weren't able to come because he couldn't get off work.
The Chad Hanna family
George, Chad, Travis, Laura, Sarah and Kimberly
The Stan Peach Family
Brooklyn, Kathryn, Emily, Stan, Jesse, Becky and Jillian
The Doug Wirth family
Joseph, Daniel, Doug, David (Bucky), Rachel and Paul
The Denny Wirth family
Michelle, Ashley, Brayden, Denny and Jaida
Autumn and Josh couldn't come since they'd just taken off to go to Abby's wedding.
Jon's entire family didn't get to make it as they had just used lots
of time and energy getting their daughter married. . .
Abby and Andrew are in Texas now, but they were barely home from
their honeymoon!
Below you see the Stephens' family.
We were glad to have them share our day with us.
All the boys had a great time and we enjoyed them so much.
When their dad was ready to leave the boys talked him into
staying longer. . .so they were still here for the fireside.
Jacob was getting into frontier character below.
Some folks didn't come by for the whole day, but were here for a while.
Here's Barbara and David Peach with George getting in on the hug.
Then we were also honored to have Sis Margaret Orand come by
to eat and fellowship with us.
We've made her part of our "holiday family".
Doug Stephen's mother, Mary, enjoyed the day with us.
She was in town from DesMoines, Iowa.
She attends Bro. Goodwin's church.
It was a pleasure to get to know her and get better acquainted with her family.
Brayden has his mouth full of Sarah's "cutie" oranges. . .
He can put away the food!
Travis enjoys just sitting out on the stump beside the prairie house with
his big straw hat.
Janet, Rachel and Doug help get last minute coffee and etc. ready.
Rachel goes outside to see if she can help carry some food into the building.
Notice that we even had a table for the two toddlers to sit at.
There was a table for men, a table for women, For younger kids and for the older.
We also had high chairs for the two babies so we ALL got to sit down together.
Above we have Doug and Chad who both helped to make sure each family
attending got their pictures taken.
Below, Doug helps make sure the little prairie house was all set up for
pictures.  The kids had a good time playing in it all day.
The boys used it as a stable, the girls a house.
Tom and Stan get a little time to talk to one another. . .
what a good dad Stan has. . .what a good son Tom has.
They are both blessed.
Stan with baby Emily Jane. . .she was glad to be in
her daddy's arms, outside with the other kids.
In the background you can see little Kimmie Jo.
The kids just didn't want to quit playing.
It was really neat that day because all the kids, young and old,
played together.  The older kids let the little kids play
hide and seek on their perspective teams. . .and just rope. . .high jump. . .
and corn hole toss. . .etc.
They climbed all over the play set too..
Later that evening we lit up a fire in a huge old cast-iron kettle and
sat around talking while the kids played.
Here Chad was getting things started. . .
Doug helped the kids makes s/mores. . .Yum. . .Yum.
And here's our little frontier girl, Laura Jean. . .she wore he hat a lot of the day.
That’s all folks. . .There was so much activity, so much fun and games going on that
we just didn’t think about taking more pictures.  Doug may have some I don’t have.
"Dear Lord, I want to thank you from my heart for another year of freedom in our country. . .freedom to give thanks openly to you for all the blessings of life.
Thank you Lord for giving us this property to host events.
Thank you for giving us family and friends who want to share the day with us.
Thank you for the love that can be felt running all through the house/shop,
out in the yard, around the tables. . .it isn't something that everyone has at their
family dinners.
Lord, thank you for all the loads of food we once again had on the table.
It seems like everyone here wants to do "their share" of blessing others.
I am so blessed!
Thank you for all the many years of Thanksgivings, just like this one today
that I spent at my Pappy and Granny Bare's home. . . Or with my
Grandma and Grampa Banks. . .
Or at my own parents home when their folks were too old and tired to
continue having things at their home.
We are Family. . .family with so much love we can even give it to others who
come by. . .with so much happiness we won't lose anything by sharing it with you. . .
God you have blessed us with the things in life that really matter most
and it our duty and our pleasure to bless others.
Your Child, krp"
