Houston Convention 2012

Just wanted to say it was a wonderful three day convention we hosted here in Humble. . .We had over 1,600 people in attendance, people who love this
vision of the Body of Christ.
I'm sure some were there to find fault, but the majority were there because they found the "pearl of great price" and are willing to "buy the field" for it.
The songs were filled with life and the preaching with wisdom.

In this day we are living in we have to make a full commitment to the Lord and his purposes. . .we can't have our own agenda. . .we can't have our own way. . .
it's got to be His way or else. . . If we won't listen to the voice of God and the ministry we'll just keep losing the battles in our own lives.
So many folks don't really want to fight His battles working with Him to
help secure a "place of safety" for others. . .
they just want Him to fight their battles and rescue them from the consequences of their own sin.

If we aren't willing to hear "the truth" preached. . .if we are so faint hearted that
we consistently blame others for our own lack of spine in holding a standard. . .
if we refuse to change the way we live so God will be honored. . .
then we truly are NOT WORTHY of the calling to be a part of His eternal plan.
If we can't take someone telling us we need to change without
quitting church over it. . .
if we feel like the preacher is only preaching "at" us. . .
then just maybe it's because we are feeling guilty about the choices we've made.
Maybe we KNOW we aren't living righteously. . .that we're making excuses for not doing the things God has asked of us. . .or maybe we
know we have failed the Lord in our past and the load of the guilt we
carry as a consequence makes us blame others. . .we know the
truth about ourselves. .
That's what this meeting was about. . .laying down your own burden/way
and taking up the burden of the Lord. . .
Having the strength to face our "troubles" with the faith of David and courage of Daniel. . .knowing our salvation is in the Lord.
It was fitting that the final song was
"I will, I will follow thee.
Over mountains high or through the stormy sea.
When I hear your voice, Lord, No matter how I feel. . .
I will lay my burden down and I will follow thee."
If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?    Jeremiah 12:15
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.   Matthew 13:44
