Jesse turns five! Two new Holy Ghost Babies. . .my thoughts

Jesse Frank turned "five" on July 2, 2013.
Here he and George Thomas get ready to eat
the "Ginger (really brownie) Bread" Cake.

They also made a really neat push car (below) with
PaPaw. . .a fun filled day for us all.
PaPaw designed this car all by himself with Grandma giving a few
suggestions. . . but he was the creator.
They didn't get it completed that day but they were able to play
on it a bit. . .PaPaw put the push bar and steering handle
on later that week. . .and did the fancy paint and lettering job.

Two Brand New "Babies" Born this Week!
Baptized in the Holy Ghost

Bucky got it July 6, 2013

Kathryn got it July 9, 2013
She is learning to play the guitar with Papaw's help.

Our family would appreciate your prayers for
*Greg  & Rachel Martin and family. . .
*Darlena Williams and her family. . .
*Reuben & Gracie Stence and their family. . .
(Reuban is Brenda Wirth's Daddy.)
They all have very serious health conditions
but we know we can find VICTORY in
any situation through Jesus.

Faith = Choosing to walk in VICTORY no matter how God answers my prayer. Not trying to "box God in" to a certain answer but allowing him the freedom to answer according to his will, not mine. Agreeing with the Lord even when He says "NO, NOT NOW or WAIT" to what I think I need.  krp

Seems like we feel discouraged, like we've lost the victory when we try to tell God "the correct answer" as to how HE should solve our problem. . .and

then if that isn't his will, we feel like we've lost a battle because we put "our faith" in our own desired answer rather than having allowed

God to answer our prayer in his own way. True faith is to have our faith so fixed in him that regardless of his answer, we still have victory. . .even

in death. . .or sorrow. . .or sickness. . .
I know I'm not "there" completely, but that is my desire.

I was thinking. . .we are to be soldiers for the Lord.
As soldiers life isn't really plush and comfortable but it's one mostly
on the battlefield. . .fighting the enemy. . .watching and guarding . . .
and then after the battle is won there's a time
of victory celebration, then off to another battlefield. . .
and again after victory. . .another battlefield. . .
Until we finally win every battle and we are promoted to a new station. . .
a mansion. . .a house eternal where we can live forever celebrating our
overcoming victory
and working with the Captain of our Salvation.

Brooklyn and Makaela are 14 today!

Happy Birthday Brooklyn and Makaela

Fourteen years ago, on a Sunday morning, Nev called to say Karla just had her baby and I'd just got a message from Stan right before that saying, "Mom, Becky's having our baby now so you better hurry and get here." These "cousins"were born only about an hour apart and they've been very cherished in our lives all these years.
The world should be full of such beautiful young ladies. . .full of good godly values and with purity of heart. . .may God help them to always remain faithful to the  calling He has placed upon their lives.  He will bless them with better gifts than we can ever give them.

Also a Happy Birthday to

Annabelle Perry

(Janet’s 1st grandchild was born on same day of April as my 1st!)

George says. . .Bro. Brown deserves his "little time of honor". . .

Bro. Brown seriously preaching The Word.

Today is Bro. Brown’s birthday. . .so, last week-end Bro.
Gary Wright was telling everyone that there would be a box
out in the foyer so anyone who wished could drop something
in the box as a gift.  He told of the faithfulness of Bro.
Brown, and said Bro. Brown was not to be worshipped, but
he deserved this little time of honor.

So. . .Sarah's baby is due any day. . .actually it was due last Friday.  I had her kids in my car riding with me and was just talking at random to them.
I said, "So when do you think your new baby will get here?"
Laura responds, "Well it missed LuVanna's birthday. . .and it missed Dad's birthday. . .now it's even missed Kimberly's birthday. . .so maybe it will be born on Bro. Brown's birthday."
George breaks in with. . ."NO Laura, that would NOT be a good idea.  You heard what Bro. Gary said, "We're supposed to give Bro. Brown a little time of honor for his birthday and we won't be able to do that if the baby is born that day.  That wouldn't be right would it Grandma?"
It was so cute.  I said that Bro. Gary did say to honor him but if our baby would happen to come on that day, we could still honor him.
Anyway. . .we do want to honor him.  He is a faithful man of honorable motives and actions.  A man of God.

Jilly wins 2nd place in the Southern Texas area Private School Interscholastic Association (PSIA) spelling competition. She has always been interested in spelling "bees" and
now she gets to go to State competition!
Way to go sweet girl.

Jesse acting like a tough guy sitting on top of the go-cart.

Kathryn taking an upside down seat.

Olivia enjoys her mother's green beans. . .
if you can't have more just lick the bowl!
Looks like she eats like her great-aunt Karen.

Sophie completes a learning victory and is rewarded with an "Icee" treat.  Maya
also gets one to share in the celebration.

We need to learn we can all profit from
our sister's (brother's) victories spiritually. . .no reason to get upset when they learn more than we know. . .just share in the celebration.

George and Kimberly help out in the yard.
George shows his strength while Kimberly just stays
in action.  This Tuesday she had her 4th birthday!
She had cake and ice-cream today but
no party as Mom-Sarah has other things on her mind.

Okay. . .baby Hanna. . .Bro. Brown has had his
'little time of honor' so we're ready for you to have your birthday.

Beautiful flowers. . . This and That

Some days you get wonderful gifts from little hearts you love.
Today I was given these beautiful flowers, hand picked from Becky's yard, from Jilly, Kathryn and Laura.
I am one blessed and loved Grandma.

Andrew and Abby, newly weds from Hurst, take advantage of the system. . .sitting in the Handicapped Seating area.
I didn't know being newly wed was a handicap.
Some folks will do ANYTHING to eat first! ;)
This sweet couple were just here again two days ago for Sis. Martha's funeral and stayed in our home.
I pray that they'll always be as "in love" as they are now.

This is Sophie at the Humble Texas General Convention showing me that she had lost her very first tooth!
She was really happy and Maya told me that everyone clapped for her!
Maya was as excited as Sophie.

Here's Joe during the Humble Texas General Convention. . .He really got blessed
praising Jesus. . .His Aunt Janet, Mom-Rachel, Dad-Doug and cousin-Denise are
all helping him touch Jesus!
That's really ALL that matters.

David (Bucky) also got a special touch from the Lord during his home church service in Springville, AL.
He did speak some words in that heavenly language, but he wasn't certain that he'd spoken in tongues himself.
So, he is right there at the "almost" point. . .his Dad-Doug is praying with him as are others.
God is so good!
This has inspired Laura, George and Kimberly to try to reach out and touch the Lord in our services!

Here's a couple of really cute stories. . .
#1
George was really upset with Kimberly Jo. . .she was trying to tell him what to do and how. . .
He goes to his mom all upset and says. . ."Kimberly thinks she's the boss of everyone, she
thinks she's like a 17 year old or a 12 year old.  She thinks she's smarter than everyone!"
Kimberly was listening in the background and she looks him in the eye and says,
"Well I can tell you one thing George. . .I'm NOT 17 and I'm NOT 12!"
So, I guess she knew what she was talking about. . .she's only three.

#2
At her great aunt's funeral this week, Maya Lynn was sitting on my lap with her Great Aunt Patsy
sitting next to us.
Patsy said to Maya. . ."Why do you have such curly hair when you sister doesn't?"
Maya responds, "It's okay. . .we have curlers!"
Out of the mouths of children. . .problems can be solved. . .if our hair isn't curly we can roll it.

Psalm 35:9
"And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation."

Dear Lord. . .I thank you for allowing me the great opportunity to share
the blessings of my grandchildren, nieces and nephews on this site.
I pray that all who read about them will be inspired to enjoy their grandkids too. . .
and if they aren't blessed to have their own that you will allow them to enjoy reading about mine.

Lord, if there are those out there seeking to destroy or harm our children,
I pray that you will place a nagging conviction in their heart of their sin.
I pray that you will allow them to find peace and comfort in something greater than
sin and evil. . .in the majesty of your presence.
Lord, please help the people who were hurt by others when they were children. . .
help them to find their way to you. . .the great healer of brokenness.
Help them to be able to forgive those who offended them. . .
Help them trade their bitterness for the joy of serving Jesus.
Help them to realize those who offend little ones, offend the Great God of Heaven.

Lord, I give this Blog to you. . .help me to say what you'd have me say on it.
Help me to desire for humanity what you desire.
You've shown us what is good. . .what is righteous. . .what brings peace. . .
help us to walk your way. krp

Psalm 37:23
"The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way."

Watch your step!

Thankfulness for God's great faithfulness!

Today we got the BIG NEWS. . .Kristen and Kevin are going to have
a brother or sister for Olivia sometime this year. . .
I think around October.

It's been one month ago today (January 11) since we lost our little Silas.
We again want to thank everyone for all the prayers and compassion.
You kindness has been felt
by our family, especially Josh and Emily, during these days and nights.
God has been faithful.
Sometimes "his people" act just like him!
We can trust Jesus with Silas.
We are trusting him.

If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
1 Corinthians 15:19

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
1 Corinthians 2:0

Emily. . .Kristen. . .Sami and more. . .

Here's two little ones, Eden and Levi,
enjoying another snowy day.

They were headed for St. Louis where Levi was going to get to

go to a "monster truck show" after a trip first to the hospital to get a hernia, he'd
had since birth, corrected.
Their family is doing well, by the help of the Lord.  They have good days and bad days
but the Lord is helping them in their grief.
We again want to THANK everyone for their prayers and love!

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt and some monster trucks for play.

Christina, Cecy, Emily and Sami all have big smiles
because Sami is back in church and they are all
"together again".
Sami said she is so glad to be back in church.  She and Sam are ready to "Stand".
Cecy is Sami's cousin.  She has been attending the church in Mt. Carmel for
awhile.  She came with Sami and stayed faithfully.

Last Sunday seemed like a wonderful day for the Lord to pour out His Spirit on us.
Here in Humble we were having a great service. . .it was the final day of a three
day Texas Fellowship Meeting.
The church was packed with people from all over the state.
Bro. D.L. Jones came bringing lots of his people and ministry.
They certainly blessed us with their gifts. . .as did the others who spoke.

Then Sunday night we got a text from Emily saying Mt. Carmel's morning and evening
services were "Whoooo Hoooooo!!!!  You should have been here."
I guess just about everyone in the church was blessed!
There was repenting. . .shouting. . .dancing. . .praising God however they could.
People who usually don't even wave their hands to the Lord were rejoicing
with great demonstration.
Both Mt. Carmel and Humble meetings started off with the band playing
"The Blood Bought, The Church, The Redeemed". . .
that seemed like a message God was wanting to highlight.
We ARE IN THE ARMY OF THE LORD and it IS A MIGHTY MOVING FORCE.

Then, I heard from my brother, Doug, that Springville, AL had a good service too.
People were out shouting and praising God. . .
Sounded like the Sargent family was very much into praise and worship
that evening.  Kristen and her sister-in-law and her mother-in-law were having
a good time letting the Lord know He is worthy of our praises.

Below is a neat picture Rachel made of Kevin, Olivia and Kristen.
Beautiful family. . .Olivia is now a one year old!
She had a big birthday bash at her home with lots of kids and gifts.
Her Grandparents (Janet & Sam) traveled there from Spring to take part in the big event.

Some updates on my Grands. . .plus

George gets glasses in January 2012.  He really likes them too.
His vision is good but his eyes have trouble holding focus. . .sounds like some of our spiritual problem. . .we have a good vision but we sometimes lose our ability to focus.
Laura, and Jaida Luckey (Denny's grandchild) singing as Sis. Lydia plays at the big Humble church.

Aunt Janet with Kathryn as she poses in her fancy new dress and shoes at  the church.

Sophie and Maya have a breakfast treat of waffles with cream and chocolate prepared by Davita.

Lovely Ladies Annual Luncheon

This luncheon is given in memory of our beautiful mother. . .Jean Wirth
Giving was something she was successful at doing.
She gave not only things. . .but had enough love to reach out and include
those who were in need with compassion and grace.

Sisters  - Helen Taylor, Joy Tinney and  Marion Wright (front row)
Clara Crumpacker, Mary Eberhart, Alvenia Barr, Patsy Bollier and Polly

Here are some pictures of our "lovely ladies". . .women who have been through some rough years without their spouses beside them.  We, Janet and I, like to give them a special time of fellowship to show them how much we love them. . .and to do something special for them in
honor of our dear mother, Norma Jean Banks Wirth.  We lost her in 2004. Mom would be very pleased with us for this. She liked "to do" for others.  We hold it at the White Flamingo in Spring, Tx.

Darlena Williams and Martha Dodd.

 Becky Wright  and Janet Perry
Becky used to come with her mother who she lost several years back.
We have continued to invite her as guest of honor being Bro. Gary Wright's wife, our pastor.
I'm with them in the picture below.

Nev Doades and Darlene Stelljes

Here's  Sis. Alvenia Barr/Stewart, Patsy Bollier and her sister, Polly
Everyone got to know Polly better during our stories. . .she's a keeper!

Sis. Marge Turner and Sis. Lucille Marshburn - sorry the picture is so blurry.
It's not the people or the camera but me, the photographer, who messes things up.

Sis. Riley and  Sis. Bernice Atwell
We were so happy to have Sis. Riley down from South Dakota and able to attend the luncheon.

Sis. Frances Pruiett, Sis. Clara Crumpacker and Sis. Mary Eberhart
Our waiter, Thomas, did a great job.
He also, along with Evelyn, enjoyed some of Janet's homemade cake.
This year she made a diabetic Pumpkin Cheesecake plus a
German Chocolate and  Pecan Pie cake!
Let me tell you,  it was hard to make a choice.
I got to take home some of each. ;) Benefits of being the other hostess.

This was a gift from Nev. . .she got one for both Janet and I.
The reason I posted it online is to let you know the three items up front were made
by her granddaughter, Makaela.
They smell great and I think it's neat Makaela is doing homemade soaps and lotions.
She just might sell you some if you're interested.

Each year we have different ladies attend.  We try to invite who the Lord lays on our
hearts. . .sometimes a few can't make it due to health or they just have other plans
but we mostly get a great response.
They give us a room to ourselves where we can each give a little story about something in our lives.
This year our theme was "A Mentor In My Life Who Helped Me Become Who I Am".
The stories were precious as always.

Psalm 146:9

 (KJV)
9 The Lord preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.
