We're Mothers. . .not shut-ins!

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
Proverbs 31: 10 - 11
Here are some young ladies seeking to be Proverbs 31 women. . .
To honor their husbands and to raise up godly children.
Wendy, Karla, Becky, Sarah and Janet can be seen here.

Here's another picture of the group.
Wendy, Karla, Becky, Sarah, Summer, Davita, Robin and Janet.
That's me right behind the camera.

Mothers
Not just recently, but for years I've had a desire to lift up their arms and
strengthen their knees as they do the most important job a woman can. . .
they live day in and day out with the responsibility of training up godly children.
Now, if you are a married woman, and nothing is wrong with you or your spouse's
reproductive system. . . unless your husband has absolutely no interest in you,  you will have children. (with few exceptions)
And. . .once you have children, you face the daily challenge of living a life that is
pleasing to God. . .pleasing to your husband. . .and
nurturing to your children.

God is so concerned about Mothers. . .
I was thinking just the other day, God never
called any mother in the Bible out from her home to go work for him.
He never said, "Quit being a mother!  I have something better for you.
I need you to __________ instead."
He did was give mothers a work to do in training up their children at home. . .
In taking them with them if they had a need to "go out" for Him.

And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Deuteronomy 6:6-8

So, that just about sizes up the "on duty" times of a mother. . .24/7.
We are to be teaching our children how to live for God. . .
not passively but diligently!
Teach when you are sitting in your house maybe to eat or whatever. . .
when you are going to or from the store, church or where-ever together. . .
when you are getting ready to put them to bed . . .
and then again when you get them back up again .
Sounds like this is a serious calling!
Seems like God will be watching  to see how we "mother" at least as often as the times he mentioned in His word for us to be teaching. . .
He will be checking to see if we are doing our job.
A mother's job is mostly done "out of the sight of others."
People aren't there watching you do a "good job" when you get up at 3 a.m. because
your child has a fever and they just threw up all over the carpet. . .
They don't see you hold that little one or bathe them. . .
They don't hear you praying for them after getting them back to bed  as you clean the floor. . .
No one is there to give you a hand clap or tell you how awesome you were. . .
But God sees you and He takes note.
He really cares how you minister to that child. . .He's looking for virtue.

Well, this is just the kind of things we talked about in our meeting
and so much more.
Let me tell you, we had so much fun!
We opened with prayer. . .
We ate together, then watched and listened to the first in a series of talks
by Reb Bradley on parenting.
Afterwards we enjoyed Janet's Cheese Cake while we discussed what we'd heard. . .
and we talked about the areas we needed to work on. . .we really TALKED!
We laughed, we cried, we testified, we shared our burdens and our blind spots. . .
we could feel the Lord drawing us closer. . .He was binding us together.
It was wonderful!
I am so blessed the Lord wanted me to ask these young women to my home.
He gave me the opportunity and Bro. Brown gave me the "go ahead".
I am so blessed they came. He gave us just the right group.

Now we are all looking forward to our next meeting!
I know the Lord is trying to help us be better wives, mothers. . .and yes, even grandmothers.

God is good.

Note: This was just a small group of "non-working outside
the home" mothers. . .we just want to see if this would benefit us spiritually.
We're hoping we will bear fruit by applying God's word to our homes and hearts.
