True success starts right here in our homes. . .

Thought for the day. . .
found in an old addition of "A Happy Homemaker's Secrets" and it is so true.

~None of your successes can make up for your failure in your home.~

Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!
I think that is our problem as a society. . .
as a church. . .
We are trying to be a success "out in the open where people
see us" but God is wanting us to be a success
in the seclusion of our own homes.
At our own dinner table. . .in our own car. . .
as we iron our clothes or clean our toilets.
Home is the place we feel like we can let down our
hair and get comfortable. . .comfortable enough
to fail in trying to do the righteous thing. . .
failure in bearing fruits of the spirit to our own  family members. . .
failure in showing character to our own spouse.
Failure in befriending our own neighbors.
Ouch!

Now repeat after me. . .
NONE of MY SUCCESSES can make up for my FAILURE IN MY HOME.
NONE of MY SUCCESSES can make up for my FAILURE IN MY HOME.
NONE of MY SUCCESSES can make up for my FAILURE IN MY HOME.
NONE of MY SUCCESSES can make up for my FAILURE IN MY HOME.
Are you getting the message?  Start at home to be a true success story.
Even if you've failed today, get back up and pick up the pieces by
asking God to help you. . .ask Him and them (whoever you've
failed) to forgive you and start letting Jesus help you to success
IN the Home.
~Jesus will help us. . .IF we let Him.~

I think God measures success the way Bro. Bill Gothard stated years ago.
It is not measured by what we are. . .but by what
we are in reference to what God planned for us to be.
Success = total commitment/surrender to God's plan for my life.

We have all kinds of empty successes by getting natural things. . .
giving good talks. . .making good food. . .
doing good deeds. . .getting nice clothes. . .finding a handsome spouse. . .
but if we are failing to measure up to God's goal for our
lives we are only fooling ourselves and  maybe a few others. . . but not God.
Just full of more emptiness.

"Home Work Assignment from THE BOOK"

Titus 2:2-5
2That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

3The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Ephesians 5:22-33

22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

This reminds me of an old song a group used to sing here in our Houston area. . .it went like this.
Beverly Brown and Sharon Chaineyworth were two of the singers. . .they may have written the song.

"Do you really want to be like Jesus?
Do you really want to be in The Bride?
You've got to lay down your life completely. . .
And let your flesh be crucified!

Yes, I really want to be like Jesus!
Yes, I really want to be in The Bride!
I'm going to lay down my life completely. . .
And let my flesh be crucified."

Help me Lord. krp
